Volunteer

How you can help; We are always looking for volunteers, whatever your skills, age or nationality.

We always need people to help in the Sanctuary. There are many jobs you can do.

  • Mucking out
  • General cleaning and sorting
  • Meeting and greeting visitors
  • Donkey grooming
  • Maintenance people
  • Transporting animals, for example to and from the vet

If you have your own accommodation you are welcome to come and volunteer at any time but it is usually best to arrange a day with us in advance by phone, email or coming in to see us. We often have lots of volunteers on one day and none on another so it’s a big help if we can let you know which days we are short of volunteers.

If you are looking for accommodation you need to apply through the wwoof program

If you don’t fancy actually working in the Sanctuary there are other ways you can help.

  • Fundraising Posters, raffles, organising events, sponsored walks or silences etc download the sponsor form
  • Administration
  • Adopting a donkey
  • Fostering

If you would like to help please email or come down the sanctuary any day between 10-2 and speak to Harriet or Rory

If you have any further questions please contact us using the form below.

Hi, it feels like a long time since I was at your sanctuary – I would like to know are you still signed up to wwoof?

yes the donkey sanctuary is still signed up with the wwoof spain program.
You should be able to find the sanctuary listed at this wwoof site

We always welcome new applicants but please remember that the donkeys are very popular (thankfully) and we are booked up for the foreseeable future
