A selection of our success stories

lost donkey

After a long time chasing this donkey around the hillsides of Torrox and Competa we were finally able to get him safely into the sanctuary. Luckily our vet recognised him and contacted his owner. We wouldn't release the donkey back to his owner until he had microchipped him as this lovely donkey is a repeat offender when it comes to running away!

horse rescue

Estrella who we rescued from a cliff side road in Granada province has completed the first stage of her rehabiliation here at the nerja donkey sanctuary and has been transported to our sister charity SEPE.

baby donkey branston

Branston. What can we say about Branston..!  Branston has returned home after his successful spell of donkey training. As recent visitors to the sanctuary will know Branston was always in a pickle, regularly managing to bite our volunteers and the odd visitor!

Many thanks to everyone at Clinica Veterinaria San Fernando (Calle Chaparil, Nerja) and especially Vicky who fostered Saphy for months. Thanks also to her new owners who kindly settled her vets bills too.
