Dedicated to those who are no longer with us
Mocarra, had a peaceful retirement with us for nearly 5 years, one of our eldest donkeys she passed away in the summer due to old age. She was like a Grandmother to the other donkeys and she taught the naughty baby donkey Branston how to behave. Fond of sunbathing in the back field she got a lot of attention from visitors
Henrietta, lived at the sanctuary for two years, she enjoyed life at the sanctuary greatly and was a firm favourite with visitors
Rubí, our eldery blind and deaf mule will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. Hugely loved by many around the world she spent a peaceful few years with us here in Nerja after her owner had to give her up.
Orican came to us with Silver and was already troubled with medical problems when we took him on, he was no longer wanted at the stables where he was previously kept when a new owner took over. We were able to give him a peaceful last few months
Rambo, was a huge favourite with everyone more like a pet dog than a naughty goat but naughty he was causing trouble wherever he went.
Capitan, was rescued from the road in Torre del Mar. He settled in well and had a nice retirement with us before a sudden and unexpected stroke.
Silver the mare came to us with skin cancer and severe laminitis, we did all we could for her and she spent a long time with us but sadly her medical issues proved to be too much.
