Therapy

Since 2009 the Nerja Donkey Sanctuary (NDS) has provided weekly sessions for children with a range of physical and/or emotional special needs. Therapy using ponies and horses to assist with people’s physical and mental development is known as “Hippotherapy”. The main themes of these sessions are to provide therapy, education and enjoyment for all the children involved. In the Spring of 2011 the facilities at NDS were expanded to include a larger exercise area, improved access and a more extensive program.
