The Nerja Donkey Sanctuary has been featured in the September issue of A Place in the Sun magazine on sale now in the UK. The article covers what it is like being a volunteer at the sanctuary and a bit about what we do here in Nerja. It also explains how much the sanctuary costs to run especially when a sick or injured donkey is brought in and lets a new audience know about the charity and how they can help by visiting our website and adopting a donkey online. We hope this publicity will bring the donkeys some much needed funds.

Canal Sur

admin | 08/01/2011

The donkeys are going to be on television tonight as Canal Sur are coming to Nerja to film in the sanctuary. This will be the fifth time the sanctuary has been featured on Spanish television. At this moment we’re not sure if it will be on live or shown at a later date. The television channel wants to do a piece about the sanctuary, what we do, how we fund the charity etc We will be telling them all about the donkeys and how we need people to adopt a donkey to help us stay open. Let’s hope the weather stays sunny.

Mule arrives

admin | 07/31/2011

New arrival to the nerja donkey sanctuary. A mule called Española. Her owner was struggling to feed her so he contacted us. The sanctuary was recommended to the owner by our Farrier and thankfully when he realised he was going to be unable to look after his mule he brought her to the sanctuary before her condition deteriorated. Pictures to follow.
