Environmentally friendly eco donkeys

The donkey sanctuary in Nerja, Spain, runs an eco friendly donkey collection scheme.

In collaboration with local businesses we utilise our rescued donkeys* as Eco donkeys.

and bread that would otherwise have been thrown away by the restaurants in Nerja.

 

Pablo gets first choice of the food brought back from the beach restaurants.

Any food that can't or won't be eaten by our donkeys is recycled by our pigs

and the manure is collected by local farmers for use as fertiliser.

Our eco-donkey collection scheme is loved by the beach restaurants and tourists alike.

Environmentally friendly, great exercise and good fun for all.

*We of course only use a donkey for this kind of exercise if they are fit and able to do so.

All our donkeys receive regular veterinary checks and are their health and diet is constantly monitored.

We ensure that our ecodonkeys are not overladen and that they are correctly equipped for this work.
