Success stories 2007
Branston. What can we say
about Branston..! Branston has returned home after his
successful spell of donkey training. As recent visitors to the
sanctuary will know Branston was always in a pickle, regularly
managing to bite our volunteers and the odd visitor!
Randy has now been homed in
England he travelled up with Sancho and has now settled into his
new home.
Sancho, after a long wait for
clearance to enter the UK Sancho finally got to his new home in
August 2007.
Spike was homed locally and is
getting on fantastically well at his new home
Saphy aka Footie was homed in
July after a serious of operations to repair her badly damaged
leg. Unfortunately as her knee-cap was irreparable her leg had
to be amputated but thankfully she is able to move about very
well on three legs and is enjoying her new home. Many thanks to
everyone at Clinica Veterinaria San Fernando (Calle Chaparil,
Nerja) and especially Vicky who fostered Saphy for months.
Thanks also to her new owners who kindly settled her vets bills
too.
Mercedes
homed locally after spending a month in the sanctuary.

Pablo arrived at the Nerja Donkey Sanctuary in November he
quickly became the resident escape artist outsmarting all
attempts at keeping him safely in the sanctuary. Thankfully he
has now been re-homed locally and renamed "Trafford" but we
won't hold that against his new owner!
5 Puppies successfully re-homed in just 3 weeks.
Including Patty and Milly
Mocha is now in England and
settling in well at his new home.
Below are some of the dogs
we have successfully homed

Mocha, found outside the gate at
the beginning of November. As you can see in this picture his

 Sancho aka Rizla |
Sancho is a very laid-back dog
who likes nothing better than to lie on his back in the Nerja
sunshine. |
Homed. Sancho is now in England in a fantastic new home. |

Homed in England. After a long wait for his passport Randy is
now happily in England at his new home. |

Yupi |
Yupi is a lovely little dog who
would make an ideal family pet. He has lived in an apartment
before so not having a huge garden wouldn't be a problem. Sadly
his previous owners had to give him up as their little boy
developed an allergy to dogs. Yupi is a very friendly chap who
gets on well with other dogs, cats and loves children. |

 Rusty |
Rusty was found tied to the
Sanctuary gates one morning, and though initially very nervous,
he has developed into a very affectionate dog. He is a lively
medium sized dog who loves to play fetch and tug of war. He
would make a great pet for anyone who has some time to devote to
training him. He is still a puppy, at only 8 months old and so
would benefit greatly from this. |
Homed - Sept 07 in Motril Granada
province |

Zero |
Zero is a lovely
little, Spanish Jack Russell type puppy. He is currently being
fostered and as such is well trained. Full of energy and with a
good nature. Update: Zero's new owners brought him back
to the sanctuary to see us recently. He has grown quite a bit
but clearly remembered the sanctuary and the volunteers who had
fostered him. |
Homed - Sept 07 |

Friday |
Friday was born approx. in
October 2006, she was dumped at the sanctuary in mid-December.
She is a lively cream coloured young lady who loves both people
and animals. Would make an ideal family pet. |
